|Each tablet contains 100 mg allopurinol.
Each tablet contains 300 mg allopurinol.
|- Increase of acute attacks of gout ( rarely).
- Rash ,Itching.
- Gastro intestinal disturbances ( nause, vomiting, slight a symptomatic SGOT/ SGPT increase ).
|DAM LORIC is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It inhibits the oxidation of hypoxanthine which usually produces xanthine and uric acid. So this product decrease uric acid level in blood and urine.|
|This product is indicated in :
1- Chronic gout.
2- While the treatment of neoplastic diseases .
3- Management of recurrent calcium oxalate renal stones in patient with hyperuricosuria.
|Patients who have developed a severe reaction to allopurinol should not be treated with the drug.|
|Warnings and precautions|
|1- Should be discontinued at the first appearance of skin rash which may indicate an allergic reaction.
2- The drug should be used with care during pregnancy only if the doctor estimates that it is absolutely needed.
3- The drug has been found in the milk of nursing mothers, caution should be taken while lactation.
4- Should not be used in acute gout attack.
5- Caution in renal and liver insuffiency .
6- It is recommended to drink suitable quantity of water (2-3) liter to decrease the danger of renal stones.
|1- Increased azathioprin and mercaptopurine toxicity, in concomitant use with DAMLORIC.
2- Avoid concurrent usage with Aspirin and other salisylate.
3- It is possible to increase the toxic effect of some medications like Hypoglycemics, Oral Anticoagulants, Cyclosporin .
4- Monitor renal function with Thiazides.
|DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION|
|Adults: (2-10) mg/kg
100 - 300 mg/day, for patients with mild gout.
300 - 600 mg/day, in moderate cases of gout.
600 - 900 mg/day, for sever gout.
